TWO BRACES TO REALIGN THE TOE.
You want to relieve joint and pressure-related pain associated with a bunion? Opt for a relief during both day and night by alternating the EPITACT® braces.
The bunion corrective brace for day use by EPITACT® has been developed to straighten the first metatarsal bone (the big toe), to realign it and to limit squeezing of the forefoot. By absorbing pressures on the bunion, the brace also relieves pain caused by wearing shoes.
The bunion corrective brace for a night use by EPITACT® corrects the deformation of the big toe by soothing contact pain (for example bed sheets and other pressures…). Heat-moulded several times, it allows a customised degree of correction to have a progressive impact on the double joint deviation.
The braces are designed for use on bunions that are in the early to moderate stages of development, while the big toe is still able to move laterally. Indeed, hallux valgus is a deformity that cannot disappear over time.
Since both EPITACT® braces have positive effects on deformity correction when used separately, combining their use throughout the day and can only be beneficial. Two braces allow for 24-hour care.

Given that the rigid and flexible braces act the same way, I can switch them.
FALSE! Even if the objective is the same, they're used differently. The rigid reinforcements of the night brace are not compatible with most shoe models. During the day, while moving, wearing a rigid brace would be restrictive and inappropriate. The thinner, flexible day brace, is adapted for walking and daily activities.
At an advanced stage, a bunion brace has a curative effect.
FALSE! Neither the rigid brace nor the flexible brace are recommended if the big toe no longer moves laterally. These two devices are designed for use on mild to moderate cases of hallux valgus, hence the importance of early care!
I can accelerate the correction by exaggerating the thermoforming of the rigid resting brace.
FALSE! The deformation angle correction associated with a bunion must be progressive. The EPITACT® rigid brace has been specially designed to be modified up to five times. If the correction is accelerated too quickly, you may experience the development of additional joint pain.
